JAZZ CONCERT of "THE DUET" for the 50 anniversary CONSECRATION of OUR LADY of PEACE CHURCH VISPA – CARCARE (SV)

In 1964/65 the Lively community, with the aim of strengthening its identity, felt the need to embark on a path to build its own church, followed within a few years the construction of asylum. Vispa community in those years was also a center of artistic ferment and music had its predominant part. On the occasion of the 50 anniversary of the consecration of the Church, the municipality of Carcare (SV) in collaboration with the production activities of the village to organize 15, Vispa May, at 20.45 just inside the Church, the jazz concert with "The Duet" formation composed of Roberto Rebufello on soprano sax, Alberto Bellavia on piano, Simone Monnanni on bass, Lorenzo Arese on drums with the sound direction of Luca Toffani.
Veterans from new label THE LONG JOURNEY OF THE SNAIL duo disc, with whom are finalists at the Jazz Festival of Avignon, only Italian group in the final.
The Duet's music can be described as contemporary, but is articulated in different moments. The alternating lyricism to absolute freedom is symptomatic of how our roots are classic and how we take refuge, still studying and listening, in the greats of the past. Jazz music often peeks between the different compositions because this kind is part of our lives as musicians who like to play in real time with various improvisational strategies.
The small gifts and quotes are often simultaneously spontaneous and games search. The duo is a condition where only a great understanding makes possible certain small spells. Research, experimentation and fun are what allows us to really play with music, with what we know, what we write and what we invent. Often the songs are born from a small idea, theme of everyday life, for this in The Duet music many genres, are a combination of sounds and effects that want to tell moods.
