A billboard always full of appointments, that of RAVELLO FESTIVAL, which this year reaches the 63rd Edition and goes on stage from 20 June to 13 July. Exhibitions, performances and concerts, using a different theme chosen each year, enliven one of the pearls of the Amalfi coast.

With an evening of great dance international, built on music of Richard Wagner, will start next June 20, the Ravello Festival, like a large circular composition, will celebrate their tutelary deity even in the closing night, September 5, devoted to "Parsifal". Between the two extremes will almost Wagnerian fifty events that long-established tradition, symphonic and Chamber, jazz repertoire and content will pop, without lacking attention to theater, Visual Arts, meetings of speech. The format of the Festival, sponsored by 2003 from Fondazione Ravello in the wake of the project born in 1953, remains what, especially in the last five years, was more successful than ever, marking a growing trend for presence of public and media response.
The theme around which dipaneranno the two and a half months of programming, designed by Artistic Director Stefano Valanzuolo, is "Enchantment". In the end, that Mimmo Paladino made real logo with its dedicated brochure, get confused by choice two intent: the first and foremost gives attention to the human voice as an instrument of expression, melodic, poetic, rhythmical and, when necessary, even political. From "In Hand" to "enchantment", second appearance of the main theme revolves around the mystery and magic, the concepts underlying the irresistible charm of the attractions which welcome the Festival, by sixty-three years. Fairytale or supernatural element many proposals will find a stretch of seduction. Originates from a spell, for example, the story of "Tristan and Isolde", 150 years after the premiere of the opera, will be available in dance, with the presence of two formidable étoile of the Paris Opera and choreography by George Mancini; then in a theatrical, with the new "Story of Tristan" entrusted to the Director, actor and cuntista Vincenzo Pirrotta; Finally at the piano, with Orazio Sciortino. The evening of 5 September, then, will be a kind of apotheosis Wagnerian, with the public invited into the "Magic Garden of Klingsor" Valery Gergievbehind the wheel of the famous Orchestra of the Marinsky theater and of the Chorus of Santa Cecilia for a dramatic focus on "Parsifal", whose Genesis is linked not casually to the gardens of Ravello.
It is not, that of Saint Petersburg, the only distinguished orchestra waiting at the Festival: there is also the magnificent poster Gustav Mahler JugendOrchester founded by Abbado and entrusted to the care of glorious for the occasionHerbert Blomstedt. And still speaking of youth, we report the European Union Youth Orchestra withGianandrea Noseda (Fifth of Mahler), the Junge Wien Philharmonic ("Great" by Schubert), theOrchestra dell'Accademia della Scala with one of the listed Director Today, the Finnish Susanna Mälkki. Also on the lot the Symphony Orchestra: Caikovskijconducted by the expert Vladimir Fedoseyev and with Valentina Lisitsa grappling with the feared "Rach 3", the Orchestra of the San Carlo ("Amadeus" by Shaffer, with Axelrod, Baba), theBerliner Symphoniker and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Phoenixthe protagonist, with Alvise Casellati, the evocative dawn concert.
Worth report projects commissioned for the occasion. The "Story of Tristan" with Pirrotta has already said. But there is also waiting for the symphonic suite, which Gianluca Podio drew on themes of Pino Daniele, entitled ' or ' sea ', with a vague reminder of Debussy. Chamber events are outstanding for the fame of the protagonists: the cellist are debuts in Campania Sol Gabetta, violinist Janine Jansen and the fabulous 12 Cellists of Berlin Philharmonic; Sir Tony Pappano will play in duo with Luigi PiovanoWhile the Horn playerAlessio Allegrini with the percussion ensemble Tetraktis.
Jazz lovers, apart from the aforementioned events, the Ravello Festival 2015 also has Uri Caine "plays Gershwin", the duo Kenny Barron – Dave Holland, the piano teacher Chihiro Yamanaka, saxophonist Branford Marsalis in the Quartet. There is also a cross with the unreleased Bach duo Ramin Bahrami-Danilo Readoc, that of Bach, an integral rebalanced precious of the Brandenburg Concertos (Bahrami, Mercelli, Solisti Aquilani). And also a singer-songwriter debuts in Ravello to the Roman school well loved as Niccolò Fabiaccompanied by an acoustic quartet.
You are likely to forget, in the sea of guest star players, even an Academy Award Nicola Piovanithe protagonist and author of the new show "music is dangerous"; or a superstar such as Stefano Bollani, piano solo. Nor all: great dance with Silvia Azzoni and the artists of Hamburg Ballet, busy with choreography by John Neumeier. between music and theatre the "Histoire" stravinskiana proposed by Solisti della Scala and Mazza M; a tribute to cinema, and finally, the Symphonic evening divided equally between themes of Ennio Morricone and John Williams.
In terms of Visual Arts, the exhibition dedicated to the sculptor of the Neapolitan school Augusto Perez, curated by Flavio Arensi, which will occupy the spaces of Villa Rufolo and the terrace of the Auditorium Niemeyer. And, for a festival that puts music at the Centre of his interests, the retrospective of the most appreciated Italian photographer known music genre: talk about Guido Harari, and his show is titled "Sonica". Finally, Word will see protagonist Gianni Minà, which actively interested Music Festival returns to Ravello with your cycle in three chapters devoted to as many important Spanish-speaking singers.
The whole will be taken up by a crew of Ravello Festival 2015 Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples, coordinated by Director Stefano Incertiwith a view to a partnership signed between the two institutions bells that will lead to the final production of a medium-length film dedicated to the Festival.
The Ravello Festival represents, together with the management of Villa Rufolo, the driving force of "Project Ravello"undertaken in 2013 and consolidated recently thanks to the signing of the agreement by which the Region Campania allocates 4 million euros to the Foundation for the continuation of the activities in the period 2015-2016. Resources refer to European funds ("plan of action and cohesion"). For the Foundation Ravello it is a gratifying recognition that goes further to reward work assiduously done on the strengthening of the mark Ravello Festival, the consolidation of the role of Ravello where excellence for the whole region and, finally, virtuous and innovative management of the monumental complex of Villa Rufolo.
"Project Ravello" is proposed, as a final objective, integrated and unified management of overtime and monumental containers that embellish the city of music: Villa Rufolo, the Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer and Villa Episcopio.
