The 7th Edition della FESTA DEI POPOLI Darwin wants to be the highlight of a shared location with all the organizations that deal with immigration and integration in Chieti. The idea of a large party happily shared stems from the belief that the encounter between different cultural entity and the multiplication of regards, are valuable source to build an intercultural dimension of our city and to greater awareness of the richness that the discovery and appreciation of diversity and acceptance of others allow you to conquer. The Festival of Nations will be the sharing tool that brings the citizenship to the difficult reality of foreign communities, the difficult path that adults and children immigrants live in their everyday life, at work, at school, in public places and on the streets of our city. The Festival of Nations is intended as a tool to help overcome hatred, intolerance and racism. The line chosen is that of exchange between different cultural identities, people of different Nations, cultures, religions, orientations, but who share the dream of a city where the different peoples present do not live just next to each other, but meet and recognize brothers, by dropping the prejudices that lead to isolation and non-integration. You want to introduce a new perspective that goes beyond the violence of our time and you want to express the inner soul, the beauty, the cultural vitality of migrant populations.

UNA SOLA FAMIGLIA UMANA

The Festival of Nations for this edition wants to restart from our mother earth, this is the year of Expo 2015, we must exploit this opportunity to understand the causes of the "degradation" that plagues our world and pushing many brothers migrants to emigrate. We start from the Earth, to rise up together and to build a world where there is "life" for all. The Earth's resources are depleted, the inequalities are rising, forcing billions of people living in absolute poverty. Something needs to change! It will be a Festival dedicated to the theme of new lifestyles and sobriety, a message of hope, an invitation to start immediately personal actions, collective initiatives, political choices that lead to a change in mentality and lifestyles to "live more simply and allow others to simply live" starting by respect for mother earth. We must, in fact, a new style of sobriety, capable of reconciling a good quality of life with reduced environment, thus ensuring a dignified existence even to the poorest and to future generations.

The Festival of Nations will be held in the Villa Comunale di Chieti from 10 to 22 hours.

"Intercultural workshops" for the youngest: fairy tale, musical instrument, painting, animals, griot, art, etc;

Musical journey with lectures by: bellydance (Egypt), Mbalax (Senegal), Dabka (Palestine), Hora (Romania), Sirtaki (Greece), capoeira (Brazil), salsa (Rep. Dominican), Tinikling (Philippines), samba (Salvador da Bahia).

11.00 hours WE KNOW the WORLD
Debate on Palestine and Middle East issue by the "network of solidarity with Palestine and peace in the Mediterranean Abruzzo/Molise" and to follow comparison organized by Caritas on "Ukraine: a wound in the heart of Europe".

Hours 12.00 tastes and knowledge of the WORLD
Start tasting the traditions in the world.

Hours 15.00 TOGETHER for the WORLD
Shows, performances, readings by the schools and associations.

15.30 hours LISTENING to the WORLD
Interfaith moment for peace headed by s. Etc.. Father Bruno Forte Archbishop of ChietiVasto and representatives of the principal religious communities present in the region.
