Sunday, May 31 at 17 at the Auditorium Loreto, former District 2, Largo Roentgen in Bergamo, Rataplam masks – Bergamo e la Folk Company "Harlequin Bergamasco Folk" bring the folk tradition of Bergamo with the show "Pacì Paciana, the Robin Hood of Val Brembana”.

A project born between two important cultural realities of Bergamo who wish to continue their research into the traditions by staging, in an unprecedented and unusual figure of the popular Bandit bergamasco Pacì Paciana.

The five actors on stage they want to represent a typical family of Bergamo who argue heatedly in Bergamo, badgered by a curious stranger and busybody. Tell the troubled life of the famous Bandit between theatrical skits, dances, music and storytellers.
In the nineteenth century the brigandage was common practice especially in the southern regions, with their legendary exploits, full of courage and fear, many bandits terrorized southern Italy robbing and killing. In our valleys in those days, in contrast, few are the brigands who have left their mark, remember between all the figure of Pacì Paciana, known as the Robin Hood of the Brembana Valley, who stole from the rich and give to the poor and are distinguished for their courage, cunning, generosity, altruism and for fighting for freedom against the oppressor French.
Especially in the province of Bergamo his exploits have entered the folk tradition, its existence is documented but his adventurous deeds come to us in the form of a legend, even finding pointing in some texts of the time, they never crossed our mountains.
To make him famous and preserve its memory contributed the puppet theater, and in particular the character of Gioppino whose stories embroidered on the character with exaggerated Anecdotes and virtue.
Always sided with the poor, the figure of Pacì Paciana elicits the sympathy of the people and his tragic end, which occurred due to the betrayal of a friend, so much indignation.
The robber for sure was a rebel and an outlaw but our people still remembers him as a fearless hero who struggle against injustice.
