Milan Flamenco Festival celebrates its ninth year consolidating its importance in promoting the flamenco, since 2010 the intangible heritage of humanity, as a symbol of identity, dialogue and an instrument of creation and dissemination of culture.
The event, which could bring together in only the biggest names in flamenco World review, may as always rely on careful production, organization and artistic direction of Maria Rosaria Mottola for PUNTOFLAMENCO.
The 2016 Edition will focus on topics of current interest and will have as its leitmotif IDENTITY, dialogue and integration.
Around these themes will rotate performances by three prestigious Spanish companies; new space will be devoted to Roma in Italy with the exhibition "Gypsies: identity Max Peef" Shots, and a screening of the documentary "Gitanistan – fictional Status of Roma families-Salento" of Pierluigi De Donno and Claudio Giagnotti, accompanied by the authors. Will the usual workshop for dancers.
The festival will count as always with notable names in flamenco world: EDUARDO GUERRERO amongst new talent, young talent internationally consecrated, followed by two stars of the flamenco world panorama PASTORA GALVAN descendant of consecrated artistic family of Seville the Galvan, and the mythical National Dance Award EVA YERBABUENA bailaora.
To emphasize the theme of this year, the Festival will open its doors in the home
Prison of San Vittore, with a flamenco show, curated by Flamenco Ensemble Point offered every year to prisoners and that will also see the performance of flamenco workshop participants that Maria Rosaria Mottola leads for five years at the women's section.
