Il 28 June a Genoa a Saint is celebrated traditionally linked to the sea: the "good fisherman" Peter, to whom it is dedicated the Church that dominates the area of the mouth where the Bisagno River reaches the sea.
The area of the mouth and Corso Italy welcome the traditional fair of St. Peter, in which a multicolored set of hundreds and hundreds of stalls serves sundry goods, fancy goods, sweets, curiosity and sights.
St Peter's fair begins on Saturday afternoon and continues throughout the day Sunday until, at 23.30, sea horizon front Gardens in the area of the mouth becomes outstanding backdrop to traditional Govi and increasingly exciting firework.
In the afternoon of Sunday, in the area of the mouth, is held the traditional and highly anticipated Palio Marinaro Genovese di San Pietro.

This Stake was born in 1955, just as the regatta of the ancient Italian maritime republics, taking a cue from "ran" that fishermen went out for their boats arrived before others at the beach and they could thus sell before others catch.

For the Palio marinaro di San Pietro, to compete in the water in front of the bathroom mirror San Nazaro, fiberglass boats are of the "districts" of Genoa (Voltri, Sestri Ponente, Foce, Sturla-Vernazzola, Fifth, nerves and s. Ilario/capital), on each of which take place four rowers and a coxswain. The competition over a distance of 1 nautical mile is divided into 6 rounds of boa.
With the 2009 Edition the Palio recovered even the thrilling "climbing the hubs": at the end of the race at sea and joints goiters on the shore, the hub of each boat must run towards the "Castle" of your neighborhood, climb up to the top and settled the pennant of the ward to which they belong; that will win the Palio the ward that, with its hub, will succeed for first in the difficult task.

The crew comes as a Trophy winner playing an ancient Clapper of the north portal of the Palace of the Prince, depicting Neptune.
