The Artugna group was founded in 1977, as a result of participation in the 19TH national Eucharistic Conference in Pescara on behalf of Friuli. The name comes from the river that flows through the towns of Greenwich, Budoia and Santa Lucia. Descending to the Plains meets Roveredo in Piano: singers and dancers of the Artugna, currently about 50, come mainly from these four countries. The Artugna group wants to be above all an opportunity for meeting and aggregation for kids in our communities, promoting human and Christian growth, without neglecting their own cultural origins: for this is also the objective of maintaining the memory of local custom in our countries and to make them known to people with different culture. The group performs a repertoire of folk songs and dances belonging to the Friulian tradition, but also in other regions, since it often represents the Italy outside the national territory. For its activities the choir participates in the Artugna mass animation and is a member of the International Federation of Pueri Cantores. In over 30 years of activity the singers and dancers of the Artugna have collected many successes, both in Italy and abroad, in countries such as Spain, the Netherlands, France, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Germany, to name just a few.
