The village of Gesturi is located in the heart of Marmilla, in the province of medio Campidano, at the foot of the Giara plateau, famous for its wild ponies, a place rich in history, tradition, art and nature.
The local gastronomy is rich in quality products such as bakery bread baked in a wood-burning oven Walls, strictly in accordance with the traditional bread-making techniques, using only local wheat and sourdough in levitation. Baking days (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) it starts working from the night before, both in the preparation of leavened dough which are then of course both the oven preparation. The video tells the various processing phases and offers some glimpses of the country which retains the architectural style of typical campidanese-style houses, with large arched portals and large courtyards. In the old town, a few meters from the Church, is the birthplace of brother Nicholas, beatified in 1999 by Pope John Paul I, which each year attracts thousands of devotees. Historical memory and traditions are preserved in the House Marica, an ancient dwelling that has become the place of Arts and crafts, which in addition to preserving a significant permanent exhibition of creations made by local artists and artisans, offers the possibility to organize impromptu exhibitions and creative workshops.
