La Festa of The Cove (2013)

The Festa de the Cove is the most characteristic manifestation of Petritoli (FM) which perpetuates, reminiscent, the celebrations that followed the corn harvest, when the peasant society gathered for ceremonies of thanks to the Virgin Mary, whom they followed sing and dancing in the streets of the town.
The party was, and still is, as usual, with a parade of "forosette", each representing a district, wearing "canestrelle" from grain to offer to our Lady during the Holy Mass. Originally the canestrelle of wheat were donated to the Lords and the bourgeoisie petritolese. For that ceremony were opened the doors of the country and the farmers and the forosette were the undisputed masters of the alleys and squares, I abandoned in unrestrained dances and songs. In the most anticipated day of the Festival, on Sunday, after the inhabitants of the various districts to campaign have worked continuously for days and days to set up the wagons, they depart after the sound of the big Bell of the civic Tower. Each district has already hired a pair of barrel organ players and other popular instruments, with its stornellatori, which follow the cart together with the inhabitants of the locality itself, forming a large colorful group.
